A good portion of the working population has to deal face-to-face with customers every single day. You’d think that having worked in customer service that more people would be empathetic to the poor souls having to answer your calls, figure out solutions to your problems, and provide you with an “awesome” customer experience. But that’s not the case. Instead customer service reps get treated like day old, smelly garbage. It’s like we all believe that saying that the customer is always right is truer than any other fact in the universe. Which is why when the customer service rep hints that maybe the problem is the customer’s own fault or that they didn’t comply with a policy, people completely lose their minds. So how about we go with this truth, the customer may not always be right, but they sure are whiny.
